It is very difficult to cope with the issues of the day some of them challenging the very fabric of society. This a world in which the inclination of human beings to push the boundaries is causing us to question who we are as a nation and how each of us fit into the nation state. Political representatives therefore must be relevant and must be able to keep in touch with constituents and be aware of their views and feelings on the important subject matters. The use of technology and new ways of communicating must not be underestimated for its ability to deliver messages to all age groups. Furthermore, the exciting possibilities it presents to facilitate interaction between people are simply mind boggling. We have to grasp the tools of communication because they are the future. Recognising this I wish to welcome you to this website and encourage you the visitor to share your ideas with me on what you consider to be the important issues of the day.
I believe therefore that the representative’s challenge therefore is to become familiar and competent with the different types of communication in order to facilitate all constituents who may wish to interact with me and each other. I wish your views on the politics of the day, family, business, employment and sports. The social issues of crime and the environment impact on the quality of life that individual citizens can lead in a very significant way. The most important thing that we must remember is that together we can deal with the issues of the time without feeling overwhelmed. Together we can effectively create the environment through which you as a constituent and citizen can feel empowered to achieve the goals that you set for yourself.
I therefore not only welcome you to the website but encourage you to be an active participant in my efforts to build a better community for the young and old. There are many pressing problems in our society but we can challenge and overcome them if we work together to achieve our goals. This is not uncommon in our society as we seem to believe it is. The problem is that it is not highlighted and given credence and exposure because we dwell in the negative. I however believe in a different way and welcome your participation in helping me to build a new spirit and new approach to resolving the difficult issues of our time.
